How local services involve users

Many hospice and palliative care services work with users so that:
  • services reflect the reality for people with a terminal illness

  • service developments focus on the needs and priorities of patients, families and carers
  • there is a shared responsibility and partnership
  • users are better informed of services.

How users benefit

From a user perspective, involvement and support can lead to a sense of self-worth and value, greater satisfaction and better and more appropriate care. It also offers them an opportunity to give something back and share their experience with others.

Tell us about your group

There are user groups across the UK, from the West of Scotland and Dove House in Hull, to St Johns Wood and St Christopher’s Hospice in London.

We would like to hear of more groups across the UK. Please tell us about them using the form on this page.
