Advisory Council

The Advisory Council plays a key role in Help the Hospices by acting as the equivalent of a users' group for hospices. It is the forum through which member hospices advise our Board on key issues and priorities relating to hospice philosophy, policy, practice and professional development.

The Advisory Council has regionally elected representatives. As well as advising the Board, they are also part of the network that communicates the work of the charity back to the members.

Elected representatives

The Advisory Council is made up of individuals elected by member hospices to represent their region or county as follows:

  • one representative from each of the Strategic Health Authority regions in England

  • one representative for each of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales
  • one representative for all member hospices providing services for children (including combined adult and children's hospices).

The Advisory Council representatives are listed in the table below in relation to the position or region they represent.  Please click on the representative's name for details of the hospice that they work for.
