How to join

There are two forms of membership. Full membership of Help the Hospices is open to independent charitable hospices. NHS hospices can apply for associate membership of Help the Hospices.

Applying for full membership

If you are considering becoming a member of Help the Hospices you should read our Memorandum and Articles of Association. If your hospice meets the definition of an independent charitable hospice and wishes to become a member, please send us a completed Hospice membership application form. Your application will be considered by the trustees at their next meeting.

Independent charitable hospices

We define an independent charitable hospice as:

“An autonomous charitable organisation that operates in a defined location, is not part of a national organisation and which delivers a professionally led palliative care service as its core function.”

Applying for associate membership

Associate membership is open to those NHS hospices that meet the following criteria:

  1. delivers a professionally led palliative care service as its core function

  2. has devolved leadership and decision making powers

  3. has a distinct identity / location

If your service meets the above criteria and would like to apply please complete and return the associate membership application form.  This application will be considered by the trustees at their next meeting.
