Agenda for Change

Agenda for Change, the new framework for pay and reward in the NHS, is likely to have a significant impact on hospices in the voluntary and public sectors. Hospices in both sectors will need to consider the implications of Agenda for Change for their organisations.

This page brings together the support that is available for voluntary hospices who wish to consider the implications of Agenda for Change and how they should respond. These materials have been developed by Help the Hospices and by the National Partnership Group for Palliative Care.

For more information, select one of the options below:

National Partnership Group: The Implications of Agenda for Change for Voluntary Sector Hospices
This report includes an overview of Agenda for Change, the issues for voluntary sector hospices, what support is available from Workforce Development Confederations, FAQs and financial implications.

Job Profiles
Help the Hospices has worked with NHS Partners to develop standardised job profiles for common hospice jobs and to band these according to the Agenda for Change payscale. These are intended as a practical starting point for hospices who may wish to mirror the Agenda for Change payscale in their organisations.

Case Studies
These show how three voluntary hospice providers have chosen to respond to Agenda for Change.

Legal Advice
Help the Hospices has commissioned legal advice on some of the common questions that have been asked about the implications of Agenda for Change for the voluntary sector. Further legal advice is available from Help the Hospices legal advice line on 01372 462 262.
