CASE STUDY

John is a 54 year old man who had surgery for a carcinoma of the colon.

Two weeks ago his wife noticed he seemed vague on occasions.  Over the past week he has become increasingly disoriented.

Overnight he has become drowsy.  At times he becomes agitated and seems in pain, but is unable to describe his symptoms.
