Help the Hospices is aware of the sea change in education provision and learner expectations such that e-learning is acceptable, expected and often preferred, increasing accessibility and affordability of education for those within and without of hospices. Helping others to learn about caring for people with advanced disease has always been a fundamental part of effective palliative care.
CLiP
The aim of our free CLIP programme is to resource professionals, carers and teams from a variety of health and social care settings with the knowledge and skills needed in their daily work. A CLiP worksheet facilitates learning in the time it takes to have a “coffee break" – just 15 minutes. It can be used by an individual or used by small groups as a focus to develop shared dialogue and learning.
The content has been designed and is regularly updated by doctors, nurses and other professionals involved in clinical palliative care practice

From January this year Help the Hospices is pleased to be working in partnership with the NHS Core Learning Unit to offer the opportunity for member hospices to subscribe to mandatory/statutory e-learning modules. Hospice staff will have access to accredited training for a minimal cost!
Mental Capacity Act e learning
Welcome to the new Mental Capacity Act e-learning section.
The Mental Capacity Act came into force on 1 October 2007. It will have a significant impact both for patients with impaired mental capacity, and those caring for them. That includes all health and social care professionals engaged in palliative care, whatever their setting, be it a specialist unit or hospice, an acute hospital, a care home, or primary care. The e learning area is intended to help you understand the Act and consists of an introduction, presentations, case studies, and useful links.
Please contact Louise Isherwood on Tel: 0207 520 8200
