We would like to say a huge thank you to all Morrisons colleagues and suppliers for all their enthusiasm and dedication throughout the duration of the partnership. Thanks to Morrisons fantastic fundraising efforts we are now on track to exceed our £1 million fundraising target. Funds raised will be supporting Help the Hospices and local hospices across the UK.
How it has worked
430 Morrisons stores and over 20 of their distribution sites were twinned with 184 local hospices for colleague fundraising. Colleagues have built fantastic relationships with their local hospices and have been able to make a tangible difference to hospices that serve the community where they live and work.
What we have been doing together
Since the launch, colleagues have been working hard to fundraise for their local hospice. Fundraising activities around key hospice care messages have been a great success and have helped raise awareness of the hospice cause amongst Morrisons colleagues.
Each key fundraising activity focused on a key message and fundraising ideas drew on both the key message and time of year:
-
Spring - Go Yellow to Raise a Smile for Help the Hospices
-
Summer - Did you know that hospices care for friends and family as well as the patient?
-
Autumn - Did you know that hospice care can be for days, months or years?
-
Winter - Did you know that hospices care for people at home as well as in the hospice?
Help the Hospices has also been selling merchandise such as pin badges in stores and have also been working with some of Morrisons suppliers to develop on-pack promotions, including Unilever and Procter & Gamble. Cadbury also released a limited edition Bar of Plenty, Honey flakes and caramelised pecans chocolate bar with 10p from every bar sold coming to Help the Hospices.
There's still more to come though
Morrisons colleagues are so enthusiastic that some fundraising events have been carrying on into February. Morrisons are also kindly donating the proceeds from their national conference finale dinner to Help the Hospices.
