What Towergate has done
More than 70 Towergate offices around the country are 'twinned' with their local hospice enabling their staff to support hospice care in their community.
What are we doing together?
The Towergate charitable foundation supports our work in developing the expertise of hospice professionals by providing invaluable education and training to hospice staff. Bursaries are available for a Masters in Hospice Leadership, the postgraduate qualification designed to address development needs and challenges facing leaders in palliative and end-of-life care.
Since 2007 the Towergate Foundation has provided bursaries which have enabled 51 hospice professionals to undertake the Masters in Hospice Leadership, provided in conjunction with Lancaster University.
In addition since 2008, 174 hospice professionals have benefited from a Towergate bursary, helping htem to develop their knowledge in palliative care, ultimately providing better care to patients and their families.
For the first time in 2011, Towergate supported an exciting new grants programme, The Towergate Small Grants programme. With hospice budgets often stretched to the limit, this programme provides equipment to hospices that will directly improve patient care.
