Benefits for businesses
Offering the Payroll Giving scheme shows that a company is committed to working in partnership with the community. Over 60% of businesses offering the scheme say it improves their company image.
It can also help to build better employee relations: 96% of employees donating via the scheme believe that Payroll Giving is something a good employer should offer to staff. Charity partnerships demonstrate good corporate social responsibility (CSR) and HR policies, so running a Payroll Giving may help to attract good quality applicants.
Geared for Giving is a campaign calling on UK employers to introduce or re-launch dormant payroll giving schemes. The campaign aims to give 1 million more employees the opportunity to donate to their favourite charities.

How it works
A Payroll Giving scheme is easy and inexpensive to run. Organisations can deduct any set-up and administrative costs from company profits for tax purposes. And as a mark of your success in running the scheme, your organisation could be awarded one of three Payroll Giving Quality Marks.
Help the Hospices can advise your company on how to set up a Payroll Giving scheme to suit your employees. We can help you every step of the way, from implementing the scheme to promoting it to your employees.
How to make it even more effective
To show their commitment to the scheme, many organisations offer other benefits, such as 'matched giving'. This can effectively double employees' gifts, providing further incentives for staff to take part.
