We have a large number of race places available for participants wanting to run and raise funds to support hospices across the UK. If you would like to join our Sunflower Team for the event, then you can apply as an individual or apply as a team.
The Event
You can choose to either run the full marathon distance yourself, or share the experience with your friends and/or family by entering a team of four into the Hairy Haggis Team Relay.
Full marathon
The full marathon route is great for both beginners and experienced runners alike. The flat and fast route takes in all the sites of the historic centre including Edinburgh Castle, Scots Monument, New Parliament Building and Princes Street. If you are looking to beat your current time or just cross the finishing line, this is the course for you.
Team relay
The team relay follows the same route as the full marathon but the distance is split into four relay legs. Why not find three friends and take on the challenge between you by running between five to eight miles each?
Sponsorship and support
We ask that you aim to raise a minimum of £650 for Help the Hospices. If you are running as a relay team of four then we ask you to raise £650 between you.
Your fundraising efforts will help hospices care for 250,000 terminally ill adults and children, and their loved ones, every year.
