Grants

Help the Hospices aims to make a real, practical difference in everything we do. Our grant programmes demonstrate that commitment with a wide range of grants for hospices and their staff. We offer grants to individuals and organisations.

Open grant programmes

  • Nurses in a meeting Widening access through nurse leadership: major grantsFor UK hospice based nurses to develop projects seeking to make hospice care more accessible to all sectors of the community, as well as develop their own leadership abilities. Deadline for application: 7 October 2010.
  • Burdett logo Widening Access through Nurse Leadership: seedcorn grantsGrants up to £7,500 for nurse-led projects researching the need for widening access interventions in hospices settings throughout the UK. Deadline for application 7 October 2010.
  • Teacher and students Professional development grantsOpen to all staff at UK member hospices and clinical staff in associate member hospices. Grants can be used to attend a wide range of courses, conferences and study days.
  • Hospice23 logo Hospice23 bursariesFor people based in Africa or India working in palliative care to attend the hospice23 conference. Deadline for applications 15 October 2010.
  • NGS, gardens open for charity Emergency grantsFor UK member hospices facing a financial crisis, to support work directly related to strategically moving a hospice towards a more secure and sustainable long-term future. No deadline, but limited funds available.
