Clinical governance

Clinical governance ensures that patients are the main focus and priority in hospices, and that each patient gets safe, high quality care from everyone involved in looking after them. Clinical governance therefore underpins the standards against which the Healthcare Commission inspects and regulates voluntary hospices.

Help the Hospices supports hospices by helping them to access ideas, resources and tools that can be used to monitor and improve the quality of care that they offer.

Training

Help the Hospices organises training sessions and workshops on various issues that affect the quality and standards of care provided within hospices.

Quality audit tools

Audit tools and programmes can help raise standards and improve quality of care. A variety of organisations, including Help the Hospices, offer such resources for hospices to use.

Learn from other hospices

Sharing experiences and ideas is a valuable way of improving services. Some hospices have created tools and recorded case studies to share their experience. You can download resources and case studies from other hospices.
