About the booklets
The Work and Families Act (2006) gives carers of adults the right to request flexible working. A request can be made once every 12 months. However, for many people, the caring role can be unpredictable and may only last for a short period.
The guidance in the booklets includes:
- carers' statutory rights at work
- additional benefits that employers might offer
- balancing the needs of the carer and the employer
- flexible working options that may work on a temporary basis
- other support for carers
- real-life examples.
