Governance and innovation – leading hospices into the future

Our recent conference with the Forum of Chairmen of Independent Hospices was a resounding success. More than one attendee told us it was ‘the best conference we have ever run’. With thought-provoking talks from both external speakers and the hospice community, we were given renewed impetus to be collaborative and not lose sight of hospice care’s entrepreneurial beginnings.

We were challenged to 'look forwards and look outwards' and to consider how we will respond to caring for people with conditions other than cancer, living longer with more complex needs over the next 20 years.

What does the future of hospice care look like? The ball was placed firmly in our court to decide. Help the Hospices announced the launch of a working party, lead by our outgoing Chairman Tony Newton, to consider this very area.
