Grants

Help the Hospices aims to make a real, practical difference in everything we do. Our grant programmes demonstrate that commitment with a wide range of grants for hospices and their staff. We offer grants to individuals and organisations.

Open grant programmes

  • Primrose Hospice new family support centre 2011 One off capital grant programme 2012Open to UK member hospices to support the establishment of new hospice building(s), but could be extended to equipping new hospices. Deadline for applications is 28 March 2012.
  • Towergate Logo Towergate small grants programmeOpen to full member hospices to support capital projects having a direct impact on patients. The theme for the programme is clinical equipment. Deadline for application 5 March 2012.
  • St James's Place Foundation logo Home Hospice CareFunded by the St James's Place Foundation. Open to adult and children's member hospices to support work to enable people with life-limiting conditions to be cared for at home. Deadline: 22 February 2012
  • Teacher and students Professional development grantsOpen to all staff at UK member hospices and clinical staff in associate member hospices and care homes, professional development grants can be used to attend a wide range of courses that will contribute to improving the quality of care given to people in need of palliative care and their families.
  • NGS, gardens open for charity Emergency grantsFor UK member hospices facing a financial crisis, to support work directly related to strategically moving a hospice towards a more secure and sustainable long-term future. No deadline, but limited funds available.
  • Hospice care patient Phelisa (centre) with home care nurses outside her house Wolfson international bursariesOpen to nurses, doctors and clinical officers from commonwealth resource-poor countries to support attendance at one of the identified palliative care education courses. No deadline.
