The Department of Health capital grants programme was a one-off investment programme.
What this grant programme was for
In September 2006, the government announced its plans to invest £40 million through the Dignity in Care for Older People capital grant programme for hospices. The investment would take place over two years.
In April 2007 the Department of Health awarded 191 grants totalling £40 million.
These funds were for capital use only and were intended to enhance the physical environment for the direct benefit of older people.
Update
In April 2008 we published the first edition of our grant enewsletter specifically for Department of Health grant recipients.
