Sensory therapy project

About the project
The project will set up and decorate a sensory room for the use of day hospice patients and in-patients. Volunteers will be trained in the use of the equipment to help patients and their carers relieve the stress and pain caused by life-threatening illnesses.

About the project
The three volunteers aim to establish a children and families area within the hospice which will be a safe haven where they can offer emotional support during terminal illness. Provision will be made for children of all ages with a group of trained volunteers to guide individual and group work.

About the project
The project will set up a home care volunteer service for patients and their families. It will provide respite for carers, a sitting service, accompany patients on outings and help with light housework duties.

The project is to set up and run a self help and support group for people who have had contact with cancer: patients, ex-patients, carers, friends and family.
Driving improvement project

The project will raise the driving standards of some 30 volunteer drivers. It will improve their safety awareness and instruct them in the care of patients over and above the hospice's statutory responsibilities for training.
