Priority is given to applications to attend courses in the eligible courses list. If you
wish to apply for a bursary to attend a different course, please contact us
before making an application. Decisions regarding suitability will be taken on a
case by case basis.

We are looking for evidence that you have thought
about how you will share your learning so that more people as well as
other organisations benefit from it. For example, in what different ways
will you spread what you have learned to your colleagues and other
organisations working in your region/country?

3.10 If your course fees are greater than the maximum amount of bursary available, how will you fund the remaining costs?
We are looking for evidence that you have considered ways of making sure that you will complete the course, particularly if the annual fees cost more than the maximum bursary available in one year (£1,500).

If your application is successful identify any further actions required before you can start. This could include any problems or things to organise before you can attend the course.
Provide a detailed breakdown of the costs of attending the course showing how you calculate the total cost. Your
application will not be assessed without a detailed breakdown. It could
include:

travel (up to £500)

accommodation costs.

If you have funding secured from other sources, state how much and from where.
State when the course starts and ends. Remember
that courses that have already started are not eligible. We are looking
for specific dates, so avoid vague answers such as 'when funding has
been secured'.
Grants must be claimed within twelve months of an
award being made. Help the Hospices reserves the right to withdraw
funding after twelve months, so it is important that you keep us up to
date with progress.
There is space for any additional information not
already mentioned in the application form which will enable us to fully
consider your request for funding.
This application must be endorsed by the chief
executive/director of your organisation. If the applicant is the chief
executive/director of the organisation then it must be signed by the
chairperson or a trustee of the organisation.
The application sponsor should explain why this
course is important in improving:

skills and development

the services offered by your
organisation.
If the application is successful, the applicant
sponsor will be asked to sign a copy of the statement which they wrote and an
acceptance form to confirm their support of your application and
acceptance of the terms and conditions of the grant.
