Processing applications
The programme is administered on a 'fast-track' basis, and we aim to make a decision on an application within one month of receiving it.
Who can apply for what
This programme is supported by a variety of funders, each of which place their own restrictions on how their funds can be used. This means that there may not always be funds available to support your particular application. In the event that the budget has been fully allocated, we will be unable to consider further requests for funding.
Applicants from full member hospices
Staff working in full member hospices of Help the Hospices are welcome to apply for professional development grants.
Applications do not need to be match-funded by the employer.
Please read the guidance and criteria before applying.
Applicants from associate member hospices or care homes
Doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants working in associate member hospices or care homes are welcome to apply for funding towards courses specifically focused on palliative care.
The grant must be match-funded by the employer. A letter stating how much the employing organisation will be contributing to the course must be sent before an application can be considered.
