This might be a totally new project or an adaptation or development of an existing income generation activity. Hospices could apply for a project that was similar to that undertaken by other hospices, but such an application would need to show some elements of innovation.
Additionally, it was hoped that this programme would encourage senior staff and trustees within hospices to recognise the value of investing in income generation.
Grants made in previous rounds
In 2008 we received a total of 53 applications, requesting in excess of £429,000. We were able to award 7 grants, which fully allocated the £54,600 budget available.
Awards made in this last round and a summary of the committee's assessment (which gives a brief overview of the grant meeting and outlines some of the main issues and themes), show the type of creative and innovative projects that Towergate were looking to fund.
