Equality

Help the Hospice’s former Equality Impact Assessment webpage is being revised.

Project Aims

Help the Hospices plan to replace it with new guidance in April 2012. As part of this work the briefing paper entitled 'Widening Access to Hospice Care' by Yasmin Gunaratnam will also be updated.

Our updated equality/widening access guidance will cover:

  • why equality matters
  • access and what it means
  • the Equality Bill 2010 (including the Equality Duty)
  • the Care Quality Commission and NHS
  • achieving equal access
  • equality checks
  • new case studies demonstrating how hospices are addressing equality.
