| At Help the Hospices, we see our role as two-fold. First, we support local hospices in their vital work on the front line of caring for people who face the end of life. Secondly, we give voice to the interests, views and concerns of hospices and this section looks at some of the key ways in which we do this.
Help the Hospices has a special - but by no means exclusive - focus on the independent, charitable hospices that provide 80% of in-patient hospice and palliative care in the UK. We are a membership organisation and member hospices have a range of opportunities to engage with the governance and leadership of the organisation:
- Participation in nomination and election of trustees to the board
- Regional representation via the Advisory Council
- Involvement in reference groups and other committees
From here you can find out more about the Advisory Council which acts as the voice of independent hospices and promotes public awareness about the care provided by the voluntary sector.
